Despite the mounting pressure on head coach Graham Potter, Chelsea player Joao Felix has expressed his support for the coach ahead of the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
Chelsea, who have already been eliminated from domestic cup competitions and sit in 10th place in the Premier League, are relying on a successful Champions League campaign to save their season.
The team’s form has been underwhelming, with just two wins in their last 12 matches, following a £315m spending spree in the January transfer window.

Felix acknowledged that both the players and the coach were responsible for the team’s recent struggles, but emphasized that the group remained united. He said, “The fault is on us and on the coach, but not only for the players or the coach to take all the fault, it’s between us all.
We just have to be together and we are. The coach is with us and we are with the coach. The situation will change for sure.”
Potter, too, remained optimistic about the team’s prospects, saying that his players were aware of the importance of the upcoming match against Dortmund and that they welcomed the pressure of the situation. The team will be without midfielder N’Golo Kante, who has been sidelined since August, but will have Christian Pulisic available for selection. Defender Reece James will be assessed closer to the match following a thigh injury.

Despite a narrow 1-0 victory over Leeds in their most recent match, Chelsea’s form remains a concern, with the team struggling to recover from conceding first in matches. A successful Champions League campaign could help turn their season around, but defeat to Dortmund would likely bring the team’s struggles into sharper focus.
