The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has introduced the MyNHIS mobile App similar to their already existing Mobile Renewal platform to enable Ghanaians both home and abroad to sign up to the NHIS with ease, enables members to manage their status and provides information on the list of accredited NHIS health facilities.
Initially released on November 30th, 2022, the App has recently been updated on December 12, 2023, to enhance its performance and works on both OS and Android 5.0 upwards.
On December 5, 2022, the Vice President of the republic of Ghana Alhaji, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia officially launched the mobile App at the University for Development Studies (UDS), Tamale Dungu campus.
The Vice president praised the NHIS for taking advantage of the Government’s Digitalization drive to move fully into a Digitalization regime and their immense contribution to improving health care delivery in Ghana.
Persons yet to register for National Health Insurance and already existing members can download the MyNHIS app from the app store on Google Play and IOS store. Registration can easily be done using the Ghana card.
After downloading and installing the app, one can have access to the MyNHIS dashboard by imputing the following information.
1.Go to your to the dashboard after logging in and tap on renew.
2. Tap on next to move to the next page.
3. Tap on renew for myself at the Membership renewal page.
Using the MyNHIS app is just like walking into any NHIS office to access their services but this time in a modern digital way. The App provides the platform that allows members to access NHIS services conveniently from anywhere.
With the MyNHIS app people who want to register for NHIS can do so with ease. All the person requires is their Ghana card.
It helps members to check their membership status to know if they have to renew their status or not and also provide information on how to renew NHIS card in Ghana. Equally, members can check their details using the App.
You need to note, MyNHIS App also provides users information on the list of NHIS accredited health facilities, medicines list and benefit package. Since its establishment in 2003, the NHIS has become one of the main social intervention programs in Ghana, providing financial assistance for people to access quality health care in Ghana.
