To make services easier and more convenient, the National Identification Authority rolled out an online registration platform for all Ghana applicants applying and registering for their Ghana cards.
What are applicants to be mindful of?
However, the applicant who seeks to use the online registration portal must take note of the following
- Completing an online Application Form for the Ghana Card does not automatically qualify or make you eligible for a Ghana Card.
- Submitting an online Application Form does not complete the registration process. It simply reduces the time within which the registration process is completed
- You are required to present a copy of the completed Application Form at any of NIA’s Regional or District Offices and go through an interview process to confirm your eligibility for a Ghana Card.
- Ensure that you print a copy of your completed and submitted online application form and bring it along when attending your interview.
- If you do not possess any of the mandatory registration documents, you will be required to come along with the person(s) vouching for you during the interview process.
- Except for a valid passport, a Birth Certificate, and a Naturalization document, all Government-issued ID cards and documents do not form part of the mandatory documents required to confirm the eligibility of an applicant to register for the Ghana Card.
- Electronic versions of mandatory and supporting documents are not acceptable. Only hard copies of original documents are acceptable during the interview process.
- Any person(s) vouching for you the applicant must be 18 years or older, of sound mind and a holder of a Ghana Card and must fall within the category of persons permitted by law to vouch for an applicant.
