University of Ghana Fees Payment Guidelines And Steps

Then this is your guide, by giving you all the  necessary information you need to know. Especially for all newly admitted freshers of the University of Ghana (UG), Legon.

This is an updated version of all relevant information related to the payment of fees procedures for the academic session as released by the management of the University of Ghana.

University Of Ghana Fees Payment Guidelines

In this updated version of the communique by the UG management, Students must, at least pay at least half the minimum required fees before they will be allowed to undertake the Academic and Residential registration as this is integral to the registration process.

A.     Students must take note of the following when making payments:

  1. Only pay fees at University of Ghana APPROVED BANKS.
  2. And all deposits at the bank should be made with a FEE DEPOSIT SLIP.
  3. All deposits at the bank should be made with CASH ONLY.
  4. Also remember, always ensure you type the STUDENT INDEX NUMBER and NAMES are correctly
  5. Always ensure the AMOUNT quoted on the receipt is the exact amount paid.
  6. Ensure that the recipient account name is that of UNIVERSITY OF GHANA.

B.     Student can also pay UG fees using any of the following mediums:

  1. At any of the approved listed bank
  2. Also online using Visa card, Mastercard or Mobile Money (MTN and Vodafone) 
  3. Cheques (payable only at University of Ghana Cash Office)

Legon Fees Payment Guidelines: THE APPROVED BANKS FOR FEE COLLECTION:

C. Ghanaian Students (excluding students studying by Distance Education and students of the College of Health Sciences):

  • Standard Chartered Bank Account Name: University of Ghana Students Account
  • Ecobank Ghana Limited Account Name: University of Ghana School Fees Account
  • Absa Bank Ghana Limited Account Name: University of Ghana Student Fee Collection Account
  • UniBank Ghana Limited also accepts payment of fees. Account Name: University of Ghana Student Fee Collection Account
  • Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited UGPay – Secure online payment platform for Visa card, Mastercard & Mobile MoneyLink:
  • Republic Bank Ghana Limited Account Name: University of Ghana – Fees


D. Distance Education:

  • Ghana Commercial Bank Account Name: College of Education DE Students Fee Collection Account

E. College of Health Sciences:

For Ghanaian Students Only:

As it stands, all students including Main Campus/Accra City Campus/Distance Education/Korle-Bu are to pay their Academic Fees and Residential Fees (where applicable) at any branch of Standard Chartered Bank or ECOBANK with cash only.

Remember to make sure you write your Student ID Number correctly on all the pay-in-slips which is issue using a Fee Paying Voucher. Also ensure that the information you provide for the teller is accurate before before any processing of payment.

Note: STUDENT SHOULD CONSIDER THESE DURING PAYMENT OF FEES:

Thus APPROXIMATELY GH¢ 50.00 FOR JCR DUES/HALL SOUVENIRS
And APPROXIMATELY GH¢ 20.00 AS REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT AGAINST DAMAGES IN THE HALL
Then GH¢ 15.00 FOR THE HIRING OF ACADEMIC GOWNS FOR MATRICULATION
